  This rug is perfect for our dining area! It’s made extremely well and I’ve had no issues with the quality. It does put off a lot of dirt underneath it but all jute rugs do, I’ve had several and they all do the same. Very very happy with my purchase!!

  Love! I’m super picky with rugs since they make or break a room so I tend to go neutral with them and this one was perfect. I got the 8x10 size for my office and will be getting a second one for my bedroom. It’s nice, thick, super durable and the color is PERFECT!My only complaint is that my robot vacuum gets stuck on the fringe at the edge, so I have to use my handheld vacuum in there / on the rug. But overall great value for the quality.

  This is a great rug from a look and texture standpoint. It is very chunky. Not soft, but I’m using it in an office, no one will be barefoot so I don’t care about soft.Cons-My photo shows the “navy” rug on top of navy carpet. Rug looks more purple than navy.It is also not very well “loomed” as the loops come up when using a vacuum 😕(see lumps in photos)

  This rug is aesthetically pleasing. Its thick braiding and color are exactly the vibe I was going for. I put this rug first on my hardwood floors and noticed afterward (after I moved it) that when I walked across the floor, it felt like I was walking on sand. I blamed it on the poor dogs. Then I put the rug in my light-colored room on light-colored carpet. Bad call. I moved its position in the room and noticed a dark "smudge" where it had been. When I took it out and really shook it, FINE, DARK SILT/DUST POURED OUT OF IT! Its texture was so fine, it took several swipes of the broom to really get it up. Like thick dust. Gross. It did eventually pull out of my new, cream carpet, but I feel as though there's still a subtle shadow where it had been. This rug was immediately thrown outside on the deck, where it will break down quickly in the elements, but I'm not keeping it in my house.

  EDIT 3/1/18: I am downgrading my original review from 4 stars to 3. Unfortunately, the item doesn't stand the test of time. The item browned in the sunlight, and traffic (particularly from kids and dogs) caused it to warp and unravel. We finally decided to throw it away.It was good while it lasted, though, which was about 1.5 years. If you don't have kids and dogs, and if you can keep it out of too much direct sunlight, you could probably get much more mileage out of it than we did.--ORIGINAL REVIEW--First off, it looks every bit as terrific as the photos show, which is why it gets 4 stars instead of 3. It's also very soft, at least once you've gotten all the sticks and hard fibers out. Before buying, though, you should be aware that:1.) Because it's natural fiber, it has a LOT of dirt, sticks, and hard fiber pieces stuck into it. I spent a good week walking over it and using scissors to cur out sharp and hard pieces. It's much better now.2.) It's a very large weave, which means that it will fray, stretch, and warp fairly easily. You need to be okay with a more "rustic" look if you get this rug. Ours has several pulls, but the bad ones can usually be fixed by tucking them back in.REGARDING THE COLOR on the Bleached version, the staged photo is most accurate - we were worried when we bought because the direct overhead view looked a little yellowy, but it is a nice natural bleached color that's perfect for our dining room.Overall, expect some mess and some maintenance. But if you like the rustic look, this is a good product for a great price.

  I love my rug and I am very happy to have it. It had mixed reviews but I ordered it. The smell yes my rug had a very unpleasent smell they bag it is shipped in is not the greatest for keeping mositure out during storage and shipping. I received mine in the summer so removing the odor was no problem (moldy/mildew) I used proxide in a spray bottle and sprayed both side and hung it in the sun to dry. Then I sprayed both side with 50/50 mix of vegetable glycerine and water to condition it (natural fibers needs conditioned for longer life.) then hung it in the sun to dry. Odor gone! Shedding yes the rug is made of natural fibers! they will shed when vaccumed but I have noticed a great difference between the first vaccume and now. I vaccume it every day with a bissel feather weight (no beatter bar, never use a beatter bar on natural fiber rugs.) It is beautiful and so much softer than I ever expected. I will condition it once a year other than taht it is low mantinance. I will buy more of these rugs!

  I actually really like this rug. I normally do not write reviews but since the reviews left for this rug helped me in my decision, I figured I would write one back. It is a bit thicker than I thought which is a good thing. I have had several people that have come in my house say how nice it looks and looks like something out of a Sundance catalog and if you are familiar with that catalog that is HIGH END and expensive! All in all it was a great purchase for my living room.

  There are some pretty sparse areas in this rug. It's pretty overall, but I need to find a white pad or something so you can't see the tan pad that's under it now.

  I have a smaller dining room ... roughly 10 x 10 and wanted something to finish the space but keep things relatively neutral and I went to 2 stores that are always on trend to get an idea.. (Crate and think Pottery type places) They both had rugs along this line but were much, much more expensive even for a smaller space like mine. I measured my space and felt that a 6 x 6 rug would work well. Ordered this rug with the chunky knot feel. I think its perfect and for $100 I couldn't be more pleased. There was/is no smell that sometimes Jute can have. Shipping was fast (I even got it sooner than Amazon predicted) Jute isnt the same as shag so if you know what you are getting and want a good price this is DEF the way to go.
